By definition, food hubs can take many forms but ultimately support multiple farmers in making sales. Some physically aggregate and distribute products from multiple farms, while others process and turn fresh items into "value-added" products. Still others provide shared marketing and facilitate sales on behalf of a group of farmers. Join researchers for a look at food hub research and the role they currently play--and may increasingly play--in supporting farmers across Cook County and the surrounding region.

Según su definición, los centros de alimentos (food hubs) pueden tener varios formatos, pero básicamente apoyan a varios agricultores para que realicen sus ventas. Algunos suman y distribuyen sus productos a diversas granjas, mientras que otros procesan y transforman artículos frescos en productos “de valor agregado”. Otros más ofrecen marketing compartido y facilitan las ventas en nombre de un grupo de agricultores.
