Kai Funahashi

GIS Analyst // Analista de Sistemas de Información Geográfica (Geographic Information Systems, GIS)
Kai Funahashi is one of the GIS analysts for the South Suburban Mayors & Managers
Association. He works within the GIS division of SSMMA that services a subset of the 45
southland suburbs by mapping spatial data and offering spatial analyses to assist in local efforts
and decision making. Projects include constructing web apps illustrating the 2020 U.S. Census
response rates for the SSMMA region and data dashboards monitoring the COVID-19 statistics.
Prior to his time at SSMMA, Kai worked for the Illinois State Police, mapping traffic crashes
across the state to assist law enforcement in keeping state roadways safe. /////
